Solidus Identity vs Talao
Talao is the deepest EUDI-aligned Wallet-as-a-Service running in Europe today. Solidus pairs the same standards with a network and SDK Talao doesn't have, at the cost of no live deployment.
Solidus is a public testnet: no mainnet, no token, no external audit, and no paying customer. Every claim below is checkable; none of them are a substitute for the certifications an incumbent already holds.
What Talao does better
- 40+ enterprise clients already live, per the brief — Solidus has zero enterprise deployments and zero paying customers.
- EBSI-V3 conformance and EUDI/eIDAS 2 compliance are real, tested EU regulatory positions. Solidus holds no eIDAS QTSP status — that's 2027 roadmap, not shipped.
- GAIA-X and Tezos partnerships give Talao standing with EU procurement bodies Solidus hasn't built relationships with yet.
- A full OpenID4VC stack — OIDC4VCI/VP, SD-JWT, multiple DID methods — already conformance-tested, per the brief.
Where Solidus is different
- did:solidus is registered in the W3C DID Method Registry, and the network runs live on testnet — Talao has no L1 chain of its own, per the brief.
- Open Apache-2.0 protocol posture vs. Talao's custom enterprise pricing and partial-OSS wallet, per the brief.
- Native KYC issuance via verify.solidus.network in the same stack — Talao is Wallet-as-a-Service only.
