Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Solidus protocol, its APIs, SDKs, or associated services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access or use the Service.

Use of Services

Solidus is a decentralized identity and authentication protocol. The network operates on distributed ledger technology, enabling secure and private verifiable credentials without a central authority.

Protocol capabilities

  • Issuance and presentation of verifiable credentials
  • Decentralized identifier (DID) resolution
  • Zero-knowledge proof verification
  • Secure key management infrastructure

API Access and Rate Limits

You are solely responsible for safeguarding your private keys, seed phrases, and account credentials used to access the Service.

Solidus Network Foundation does not hold your private keys and cannot recover lost private keys or seed phrases under any circumstances. You are solely responsible for your own operational security.

You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.

Intellectual Property

The protocol's open-source components are licensed under the MIT License, allowing for broad reuse and modification. However, the Solidus name, logos, and brand assets are the exclusive property of the Solidus Network Foundation and may not be used without explicit written permission.

Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We are committed to protecting your personal information and ensuring transparency in how we collect, use, and safeguard your data. Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information about our data practices.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without any warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. The Solidus Network Foundation does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or free from errors.

You agree not to use the protocol for any illegal purposes or to conduct any activity that would violate the rights of others, including but not limited to:

  • Distributing malicious software, viruses, or any other destructive code
  • Engaging in fraudulent activities, money laundering, or terrorist financing
  • Exploiting protocol vulnerabilities or attempting unauthorized access to any system
  • Infringing upon the intellectual property rights of others
  • Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the Service

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the Foundation, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Solidus Network Foundation, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding related to this agreement shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Zug, Switzerland.
