Solidus Verify
Solidus Verify vs Onfido
Onfido is an enterprise incumbent with Entrust distribution behind it. We are not cheaper on the first check and we are not certified — we are a different category: the check happens once and the credential travels.
Solidus is a public testnet: no mainnet, no token, no external audit, and no paying customer. Every claim below is checkable; none of them are a substitute for the certifications an incumbent already holds.
What Onfido does better
- Enterprise distribution through Entrust — the single most dangerous commercial asset in this category, and nothing on our side answers it.
- Certifications and enterprise procurement readiness that Solidus does not have.
- A real support organisation and enterprise contracts. We are a testnet with no paying customer.
Where Solidus is different
- Re-verification at $0.05 per presentation instead of $1.50–3.50 every time.
- The credential is the user’s and works at any verifier — no tenant lock-in.
- Open protocol: did:solidus is registered in the W3C DID Method Registry, and the SDK is public on npm.
