EKDS · KPS · TCKK
Ayrıca şöyle anılır EKDS, KPS, TCKK, Kimlik Paylaşımı Sistemi, Elektronik Kimlik Doğrulama Sistemi, e-Devlet
Türkiye runs a national identity infrastructure that most Turkish digital services depend on, and it is three things people routinely merge into one.
The three, separated
TCKK is the chip identity card every citizen carries. EKDS is the electronic identity verification system that uses it. KPS is the identity sharing system through which authorised institutions query citizen records. A bank verifying a Turkish customer is usually doing something with KPS, not reading a document.
Why it changes the shape of the market
Where a national rail exists and works, document-based verification is the fallback rather than the default. That inverts the assumption most international identity vendors carry into Türkiye: the hard problem is not reading the ID, it is being allowed to ask the state, and permission is not a technical property.
What that leaves for a product without access
Foreign nationals, who have no TCKK. Cross-border cases. And any flow where the institution wants a reusable credential rather than a per-check query. Those are real markets, and they are smaller and differently shaped than "identity verification in Türkiye" sounds.
Nereden geliyor
Bunu başkası belirtti. Solidus bir araya getiriyor.
Operated by NVİ, the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs under the Turkish Ministry of Interior, with chip and cryptography work by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, and fronted for citizens by the e-Devlet portal. Three separate things that are constantly conflated: TCKK is the chip identity card, EKDS is the electronic identity verification system, KPS is the identity sharing system that institutions query.
Bunu nasıl doğrularsınız
Solidus bunu inşa etmedi. Girdi kavramı açıklıyor.
The absence is the checkable fact. There is no KPS credential, no EKDS integration and no TCKK chip read anywhere in the codebase, and none of our verification flows query a government identity source.
