Solidus Pod
Solidus Pod vs Vana
Vana pools your data into a Data DAO and sells access to it; Solidus Pod holds a credential you keep and re-present yourself — different products solving different problems, not a feature race.
Solidus is a public testnet: no mainnet, no token, no external audit, and no paying customer. Every claim below is checkable; none of them are a substitute for the certifications an incumbent already holds.
What Vana does better
- Real scale today: 1M+ users and 12.7M data points, versus no public user count for Solidus Pod, which is testnet only.
- $25M raised — Paradigm ($18M), Coinbase ($5M), Polychain ($2M) — against funding Solidus does not disclose for this product.
- Live monetization already happening: Reddit, X, LinkedIn, and Telegram Data DAOs, the Vana Playground, and an active Reddit IMO with ORA. Solidus Pod has no monetization mechanism of any kind, because it isn't trying to be that kind of product.
- If your actual goal is getting paid for your data, Vana is the right answer today and we should say so plainly rather than argue around it.
Where Solidus is different
- A custody model with no pooling or resale: what you hold is your own credential or record, one at a time — never aggregated into a DAO and sold to buyers on your behalf.
- Open standards footing: did:solidus is registered in the W3C DID Method Registry and Solidus is a DIF Associate Member — participation Vana's brief records no equivalent of.
